The Venice Park Generating Facility is located at Venice Park Landfill, in Shiawassee County, Michigan (between Lansing and Flint).
The landfill is owned and operated by Waste Management of Michigan.

North American's part of the East Generating Facility reached commercial operation in February 2001 with one 800 kW Caterpillar 3516
genset, with a 4,160 output voltage.  The equipment in the East Building includes an 11-S AC compressor for delivery of landfill gas
from Waste Management.  In 2005, North American finished construction of a new building (West Facility) to house three additional 800
kW Caterpillar engine generator sets and associated gear, including a 17-S AC compressor for the delivery of landfill Methane.

Both the East Plant and the newly constructed West Plant are sound attenuated to reduce operational noise.  Each plant was
constructed of split-faced block, with the spaces between the webs being filled with sand; and a steel deck roof covered with two inches
of concrete as a supplementing part of the sound attenuated system.  North American also used critical grade mufflers at all sites

In February of 2006, upon Consumers Energy Company's completion of its 46 kV sub-transmission line to the plant, North American
second generator achieved commercial operation.  North American plans a third generating unit in 2007 in the West Facility.

North American has Power Purchase Agreements with Consumers Energy for the power supplied from these two units, and the third
planned generating unit, each exceeding twenty years.
